Met deze veel te laat verschenen Gids van Hilversum en ’t Gooi onderzoekt B. Brobbel de mogelijkheid om in de toekomst te kijken, door het thans bestuderen van het verleden.

Als basis diende de Gids van 1924, toen samengesteld door J.W. Draaijer. Enkele verhalen uit ‘Voorheen en Thans’ uit 1824 zijn hieraan toegevoegd. Ook persoonlijke verhalen kregen een plekje.

Dit jaar 2024 bestaat Hilversum 600 jaar en dat vieren we.
