We drinken iedere dag koffie en toch kent vrijwel niemand Alfred Peet (1920-2007), de koffiepionier uit Alkmaar die zo bepalend was voor de koffiecultuur. Geëmigreerd naar Amerika ontketende hij een halve eeuw geleden eigenhandig een koffierevolutie. De oprichters van Starbucks, maar ook vele andere toonaangevende koffieondernemers leerden bij hem het vak en noemen hem ‘de godfather van de kwaliteitskoffie’.
